📝 EXAMINATION RULES & GUIDELINES
🎯 Examination Sessions
Examinations will be conducted twice a year, as per the following schedule:
Session I: (April / May)
Availability of Exam Forms: January 1st to 15th
Subjects:
Hindustani Vocal (Classical & Semi-Classical)
Instrumental (Piano, Guitar, Harmonium, Sitar, Flute, etc.)
Exam Levels:
Beginner, Praveshika, Praveshika Purna, Madhyama Pratham, Madhyama Purna
Session II: (November / December)
Availability of Exam Forms: August 1st to 14th
Subjects:
Tabla
Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi (Classical Dance)
Exam Levels:
Beginner (Bal Varg) Praveshika-1 Praveshika-2
Madhyama-1 Madhyama-2 Visharad-1 Visharad-2
Senior Visharad / Honours Visharad
⚠️ Important Examination Rules
Advance Application:
Students applying directly for Praveshika Purna must submit exam forms by:
1st December (for Session I)
1st July (for Session II)
Exam Eligibility:
Minimum age for Praveshika 1: 12 years
Minimum age for Madhyama 1: 14 years
(As on January 15th / August 15th of exam year)
Permission Required:
All students must obtain approval from the Teacher and Director to appear in exams.
Performance-Based Progression:
Students unable to pass Praveshika or Madhyama may not continue to the next level.
More than 1 year may be required to complete some levels, based on progress.
Debarment from Exams May Occur Due To:
Irregular attendance
Poor preparation
Indiscipline or misconduct
Outstanding fees
Admit Cards:
Will be withheld if full fees are not paid by:
June (for April/May session)
January (for Nov/Dec session)
Must be collected at least 2 days before the exam.
Will not be issued on exam day or holidays.
Responsibility of the Student:
The Vidyalaya will not be responsible for informing absentees.
Students/parents must check the notice board or official announcements regularly.
Certificates & Levels:
Students will be awarded Level Completion Certificates for each stage.
Final Diplomas for Visharad Purna and Honours Visharad are awarded after successful completion and project submission.
Exam Format:
Each exam will consist of:
Practical (performance, taalim, compositions)
Theory (written/oral questions, basic concepts, terminology)
